Fast Food

We were watching tv this afternoon getting ready to go to the store. We had been on the travel channel watching a food special on the best pizza in the US. (nothing else was on to watch really) well it had gone off and a show called Fast Food Restaurants or something like that. Lets just say we didn't leave the house until we watched the entire segment on this restaurant. Its called Heart Attack Grill. They name all their burgers after heart procedures, if you weigh more than 350lbs. you eat free EVERY day, and instead of a salad bar they have a french fry bar. Oh, did I mention they cook with TONS of lard!!! They even have "nurses" that work there.

I just can not believe this place does business. I would probably die after one bite.

Saturday

Currently I am sitting at this computer searching the internet for anything on "Community Helpers" for preschool students. Now, don't get me wrong, I am sure one day (soon) I will love my job but I am not a big fan of finding INEXPENSIVE stuff to do for this topic. Not how I wanted to spend my weekend. Sick and planning. I want to be a teacher and I will be good at it but taking over a classroom mid-year and having that teacher still in the building has been interesting. I love that I get to use her stuff but she's really "protective" over how I do thing. Maybe once she gets into her job more it will be ten times better. And when I am not sick from stress.

Just alittle update on me. Not trying to complain just informing... hehe Really I'm not. Just been one of those weeks for me.

What is Life without Complications

I have been super busy and tired this week. First off I started at the school I will be working at for the rest of the school year. (YAY!) but I also had to work at my other job and had a work meeting there as well. So all in all I have been busy with scheduled work but I also have this checklist for my new employer I have to get accomplished.... which is another story in its self. Then with the car complications I have spent many nights doing other things besides relaxing. Tonight it was house problems. Luckily even with frozen pipes we were only out of water for about 20 min after we found the problem. Our pump was turned off.... need to keep checking on it :( Oh did I mention I hate being a women? Well I do. Enough said.

I think I need to change my blog from Scrapbooking into "the life of a recently graduated teacher on the job and job hunt".... there will be many teaching stories to follow as I take my first "job" and hunt for my actual first job that won't be considered a sub position. It will all be exciting in the long run.... Did I mention I'm getting married? Well I am. We had to move back our honeymoon until after school is released, which really is only about one month, it will be warmer anyways!!!

News

So I know if I don't post this, someone will be mad at me. I am now working at a school for 4 days a week until the end of the school year. More details will follow but man am I tired. Let alone that I had to go to my other work meeting after school :(

Welcome to My World

You ever have one of those days? Well I am having one of those..... somethings. I'm not sure if its a day, week, month, or even a year. But when you think you have it all together something just has to go wrong. So I was driving home from having dinner with my mom in another city. I was talking to a friend on my phone, then all of a sudden, I see an orange light. I thought great, just my luck something would go wrong. On my birthday, alone, about an hour from home. Well nothing happened and I thought it was what was wrong before with my car. I need an oil change. I always wait way too long and have issues with my car when I do. Well I go to get my oil changed at this wonderful little family run business that only charges between $10-15 every time I go. Great right! (Well it is) but they have the tendency to find all the things wrong with my car. I don't mind really its a great perk and they don't force you to fix it they just like to tell you. Well the little light was NOT what I thought it was. So, lets go back to the first cold day of the year.... "Your heater isn't working right, it SUCKS" (compliments of my fiance) Well I'm just thinking well duh its an older car and nothing ever works right..... Fast Forward. "Mam, Have you noticed your check engine light? " "Yeah thought it was a different one" "No, its the check engine light, your thermostat is going to need replaced" "Ok....... (horrible look on my face knowing its going to cost and arm and a leg) "The thermostat can make your car engine not cool right and have your car overheat" "Ok..." "It can also cause issues with the functioning of your heat" "Yup, noticed that...." (big smile on face thinking great where is this going"....... So he tells me it needs to be replaced or my engine my blow up and cost me $2000!!!! Holy cow! I know he's not lying because they are great but I have NO money $$$ :( He goes back to work and I am standing there waiting for a qoute, "Oh, mam, by the way you need a tire rotation as well.... :)haha, thanks. Though that only cost $12.... maybe next time. Back to the thermostat.... $120 roughly. Not bad yes, but when thats about all you have, its a lot. All in all, I am borrowing from our wedding fund and getting it fixed.... I want heat and I can't afford a new engine.

Tuesday

So this weekend was my birthday. You would think I was super excited and waiting for it and planning huge parties. Nope, not me. I'm not a party goer anyways but I am looking forward to Tuesday. Now I know your saying, Tuesday? Whats so special about Tuesday? Well for you, probably nothing. For me, it could change my life until June! I'm super excited about Tuesday and you won't understand until Tuesday but I have been waiting for Tuesday since Friday. Now, I love long weekends, but this has been a LONG weekend of waiting for Tuesday. I didn't want to post about Tuesday until Tuesday came, but I can't ever wait. :) Sorry for leaving you in suspense.

F U, Penguin

At the bookstore yesterday I came across a book called F U, Penguin by Matthew Gasteier. If you know me, you know I love Penguins. I was waiting for my mom to get into town and of course she got there just as I began to look at the book. But luckily this morning I found this blog online! Here's an example of the types of things in the book:
I don't think this is a book I would buy (especially since there is a website) but I thought I would share it.

My mission is to change the background of my blog. It's just too hard to read. If I can remember how to do it.....

New Favorite Snack

So I went to McDonald's and had one of their parfaits. It was good.
Then I got to thinking, I can make this. So I went to the store and I bought all the stuff to make it (except the blueberries, not a huge fan). This is what I use:

Because its winter, I use frozen strawberries. Plus the added sugar makes them yummy


This yogurt is good too. I was nervous about buying plain vanilla yogurt plus being light and fit but it is good.

This is the granola I found to use. I'm sure any granola would work. But I still recommend this one, it was the cheapest at the store that looked creditable. :)

So there you have it. My new favorite snack for the time being. It helps me from grabbing the chocolate or ice cream. (That's where the frozen strawberries help too). I have a tiny bowl I mix it all in which helps with portions.

Subbing

Today was interesting in the world of subbing. Walk into the classroom and told there are no plans. Mind you this is my first time subbing outside of my comfort zone :) Come to find out that the teacher is in rehab. For BOTH drugs and alcohol. Now, I had to ask... is she a young teacher? NOPE! 21 years of teaching and it drove her to this.... Hope shes not teaching much longer even with help I really feel bad for the kids. They were excited I would be back tomorrow, maybe because they like me but I think its because they want a routine. I heard this has been a problem all year! Geez. I will be subbing at this school starting in Feb. so maybe I will meet her. Yay for a job though :)

Gone for so LONG!

WOW! I suck at writing blogs. I am not sure if its because I have nothing to say or because I really don't have that much time. I would love to write about the wedding things I am doing, the christmas gifts I made (and forgot to take pictures of before giving them away) or really just have time to spread other cool things I come across..... well that doesn't happen :) Lets see if my only reader *Angi* even reads this one. :) May have to keep it updated now because someone left facebook and doesn't get my random post anymore. You won't see me again until at least Sat. because I work the rest of this week, getting up early and driving an hour there. I better like these 5th graders tomorrow!
